Oct 23: Digital TV transition public meetings with FCC's Jonathan Adelstein (Seattle)

FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein will be in Seattle Oct 23 to discuss and explain the upcoming Digital Television transition, in which all over-the-air TV broadcasts will convert to a digital signal.
Bring your questions to one of two public forums:
Thurs, Oct 23, 3-4:30pm at the Seattle Downtown Library (4th and Madison; underground parking or any downtown bus route)
Thurs, Oct 23, 6-7:30pm at Asian Counseling and Referral Service (3639 Martin Luther King Jr Way S, Seattle; free parking or take #42, #48 or #7 bus).
BACKGROUND: When the digital TV conversion takes place on Feb. 17, 2009, most TVs (excluding those with cable and satellite service) will need a special converter to keep working. The Government is providing coupons for $40 off the cost of a converter box, but consumers must apply for the free coupons in advance.
Coupon application forms may be filled out at the above meetings, where you can also get all your DTV-related questions answered.
For more information (or for instructions on how to apply for coupons online), visit www.reclaimthemedia.org/dtv.
